Miles for Memories

Did you know that in Scotland, 1 in 4 expectant mothers are impacted by pregnancy loss?

Miles for Memories is our new movement-based fundraising campaign, bringing people together to support those affected by pregnancy loss across Scotland. This spring, we’re inviting you to walk, run, cycle or swim for one month — at a pace and distance that feels right for you — while raising vital funds for MISS.

This challenge isn’t about speed, fitness levels, or competition. It’s about consistency, community, and showing up — one mile, one length, one step at a time.

How to take part:

  1. Sign up for free

  2. Choose your month and your activity — walk, run, cycle or swim

  3. Set a distance that suits you
(We recommend 1–4 miles a day for walking, running or cycling, or a weekly distance for swimming)

  4. Log your miles and start fundraising

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive your own personal fundraising profile on our website, making it easy for friends, family, and colleagues to support you.

What you’ll receive:

All participants will receive:

  • A free MISS t-shirt and fundraising pack
(swimmers will receive a swim cap)

When you complete your challenge, you’ll be sent:

  • A medal

  • A water bottle

  • A certificate

  • A thank-you card, with our heartfelt appreciation

Why it matters:

By taking part in Miles for Memories, you’re helping to ensure that no one has to face pregnancy loss alone.

Fundraising and donations are the backbone of everything we do at MISS. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we’re able to offer our services completely free of charge, including:

  • One-to-one support

  • Memory Boxes

  • Support groups

  • Memorial spaces

  • Pregnancy after loss support

Every mile you move helps us continue to provide compassionate care, comfort, and understanding to those who need it most.
