You are warmly invited to join us for Cuppas and Crafts!

In 2017, MISS began as a wee group where bereaved parents could chat together over a cup of tea and biscuits. Fast forward 9 years, and MISS has grown into the incredible charity that you see before you now. We haven’t forgotten our roots, though and providing a safe and welcoming space for individuals to chat and feel heard and seen is still at the core of what we provide in our support offerings.  In 2026, we are welcoming a new strand of support, inspired by these early days, called Cuppas and Crafts, which is held on the last Saturday of every month from 10 am - 11.30 am. A gentle virtual space where we encourage creativity, community and cups of something tasty.

When your days are clouded by the grief of pregnancy loss, or you’ve made the bittersweet decision to try again, it can feel like every waking moment is taken up by thoughts about fertility. Holiday planning can feel impossible, every meal can feel like a mission in optimum nutrition, and intimacy with your partner can feel scheduled and distinctly un-romantic. Here at MISS, we understand how important it is to feel part of a community of people who understand, and also how welcome it can feel to take a step back from racing thoughts from time to time. This is why our lovely Support Team offer two different group options each month. Our Virtual Support Group provides a non-judgemental container to share your experiences and vulnerabilities, while our Cuppas and Crafts session is an inviting space where you can embrace creativity and connection, without fertility being the primary focus. Loneliness, isolation and a sense of disconnection from friends and family are common themes in our one-to-one calls, and so we wanted to create an easy-to-access virtual space where people could feel heldand know that they were welcome in whichever way they needed to show up. Cosy pyjamas and fluffy socks are, in fact, absolutely encouraged!

We all know the things that are good for us, and we often gently remind people of self-care ideas in our one-to-one sessions; however, we also know that it is much easier to remind other people about prioritising themselves. We get how difficult it can be to carve out this time when your days feel busy or overwhelming.  This is why we want to support one another to show up and create something that brings joy and relaxation. At every session, we will introduce an example craft, which you’re welcome to try out, or you’re more than welcome to bring your own project with you instead. Please don’t worry if you think you’re not ‘good’ at art, this is simply about using our bodies in ways that promote flow, whether that’s colouring in, playing around with plasticine or journalling– or perhaps you like to knit, crochet or scrapbook.

There are no right or wrong ways of joining in; we promote play over pressure. Why not get the kettle on, and we’ll see you there!
